Appointed or elected Board?
Poumarumaru (our Board of Trustees) wishes to begin consultation with the whānau about applying to the Minister of Education for an Alternative Constitution.
In effect, an Alternative Constitution will enable our kura to be governed by an appointed Board (much like it is now) as opposed to an elected Board.
Since our transition from a Charter School to a State School our kura has been successfully governed by an Establishment Board (EBOT) comprising appointed members.
Over the next few months we will be providing further information about what this means and testing your appetite for an Alternative Constitution.
