For mokopuna in Whare Tuakana (years 11 - 13), we offer a personalised approach to gaining a qualification in one or more pathways including:
HAU MATAAHO - NCEA work-ready skills and experience and certification comprising:
10 Level 1 literacy credits
10 Level 1 numeracy credits
Portfolio of work experience
AHO MATAAHO - Level 2 NCEA and industry and trades comprising:
10 level 1 literacy credits
10 level 1 numeracy credits
60 level 2 or higher credits
Winter Trades Academy or other
KURA MATAAHO - Level 3 NCEA and University Entrance comprising:
10 level 2 literacy credits (minimum)
10 level 1 numeracy credits (minimum)
60 level 3 credits or higher
Each mokopuna is assigned a poutaahu pouako in kura tuakana based on their Ara Ako of interest. Poutaahu are responsible for providing assessment and learning pathway advice and helping mokopuna to track progress towards their goals.
